The 2024 NFL season may be over, but in NFL Rivals, the real action is just heating up. Introducing the 2025 Players of the Year (POTY) Program; a high-stakes, limited-time event where only the best players from the season get their moment in the spotlight. If you want these top-tier legends on your squad, you’re going to have to earn them.
How It Works
Each week, we’re rolling out a must-have, high-legendary Player of the Year; a player who dominated their position in 2024. But here’s the catch: these elite cards aren’t in packs; they’re only available through a competitive event. It’s the ultimate challenge for the ultimate reward.
Weekly Featured ‘Players of the Year’
- Every Tuesday, a single high-legendary ‘Player of the Year’ drops.
- The weekly POTY events are visible Tuesday, but begin on Wednesday.
- These players are earned exclusively through a limited-time event; no easy shortcuts here.

Weekly Pack Drops – 6 Limited-Time Players
With each new Player of the Year, we’re also releasing six additional limited-time players into packs for one week only:
- 2 Rare, 2 Epic, 2 Legendary; all players who went head-to-head with that week’s featured POTY.
- 150 PWR; making them the highest-rated non-Mythical cards in the game.
- Luminous Editions: The Top 50 players in each event will score an exclusive luminous version of the new POTY card.

The Mythical Players – The Best of the Best
Saquon Barkley (Offensive POTY) and Patrick Surtain II (Defensive POTY)!
- These Mythical POTY cards will only be available through two massive Mythical events; one at the midway point of the program and one at the very end.
- Even if you don’t land the Mythical version, Legendary, Epic, and Rare editions will also be up for grabs.
Chase, Craft, and Compete
Weekly Chase Event
Each week’s POTY event is a high-stakes battle where you’ll need at least one of that week’s POTY cards to enter. The prize? That week’s featured high-legendary Player of the Year.
- Bonuses will be heavily focused on the week’s POTY players.
- Expect to see additional bonuses for this season’s Gridiron Stars (GS) cards as well.
Crafting System
- Each week, you can upgrade your POTY cards through crafting.
- Convert Rare cards into an Epic+ for a shot at an even stronger lineup.
